In the realm of time's expanse where souls wander, dream, and dance, I move through the ether, light as air. I am neither here nor there. In the dance of stars, in a night's affair, in every mystery floating free, beyond the dreams that we all share, I am neither here nor there. Within the heartbeat of the world, in silent moments and weighted stares, beyond the grasp of shadow and glare, I am neither here nor there. In the coming and going, in the river’s constant flowing, in fields and under trees, in summer sun or Autumn breeze, in the vastness of existence, cluttered or bare, I remain neither here nor there. With the whispering wind and the soul’s despair, in a fleeting glance, in the pain we bear, on an uncharted path, in the unanswered prayer, I remain eternal, neither here nor there.
I posted this poem on August 20, 2023, when Paul’s Substack had zero subscribers. I was hoping for the best but if I remember correctly, it didn’t garner much attention and I couldn’t see much point in continuing, but by September 1, I noted one person had finally subscribed, so I continued with the work.
Since then, the subscriber base has grown to over 600 with an additional 500 or more followers and I am both Thankful and Grateful for the support all of you have shown, whether it is with a like, a comment, or a restack. I know I am far from the best writer posting work on Substack, but I never give up until there is nothing left for me to give up.
Take what I write and how it is written as an awkward attempt at a gesture, an indication, a movement that points forward, a sign, a signal, a wave of the hand, an intimation or just a shrug, a token, a wink and a nod.
You decide and I will live with that.
Thank You
