Thank you, Patris. I was not consciously associating this verse with Easter when I was writing it, but it is certainly valid and is, perhaps, an example of the idea that there are often deeper motivations/concerns involved in writing of which the writer may be unaware.
Yes, one sperm out of many "enters" or passes the egg's outer barrier. The egg "allows" a sperm depending, I would guess, on many factors not limited by the word "strength."
Perfect!
What a great and profound poem!
Brilliant.
Small and full of life--are I say like an egg.
Thanks for reading and for the comment, Will.
Fantastic
Human eggs?
On the other hand, eggs are a good source of protein and can sustain human life (don’t eat the shells, tho).
Why not? Don’t some believe that life begins when sperm “breaks into” the egg?
This is beautiful, Paul.
Easter.

Instinctive reaction (likely evidence of the years of ritual symbolism im sure) older than the orthodoxy I was raised in.
There are certainly implications of my writings of which I was unaware until months later when someone asks "but did you mean that..."
Sperm "breaking" into the egg, rape?
I don't assume that is what you meant but it is a "touchy" subject.
Sometimes I have felt that my head was remarkably like that picture, from either external, or internal, breaks.
Yours in virtual helmet,
Malcolm
Thanks Paul
Doesn’t sperm penetrate the egg? Isn’t penetration a breaking into? Don’t baby chicks break out of their eggs?

Yes on baby chicks.
Your question has led me to expand my knowledge.
Thanks
