Slow Dancing
Music by Johnny Duncan
I’m working on some new pieces that aren’t ready to be shared yet, but between now and then, here is the musical version of a poem I first published in May 2024. The production was created by Johnny Duncan
If love was a game of Hide-and-Seek, I’d hope to be the one you’d find And when it came to my first kiss I’d dream the lips were yours and mine If Nature made us both to love why not our hearts be one If Nature made us both alike who dares call Nature wrong If we could have all those things for which our hearts might yearn I think we might slow dance with fire and never mind the burn

I've been following your work since my first day on Substack. It's simple, fluid writing that puts us in touch with the world and at the same time shakes us up because it confronts us with things so simple that sometimes we don't even see them. This poem reflects that well, and set to music it becomes a kind of lullaby that warms and enlightens our hearts. Paul, thank you so much
