“He lent his hand in empathy

and never once stood idle,

his eyes could read another’s pain.

but he could not read the Bible.”

I wish you could write it across the sky.

Beautiful rhythm and rhyme, Paul. And I love the message that we don't even need words, let alone religion, to feel empathy.

Thanks, Mike—I appreciate your comment. Of course, we do need words to at least tell of it.

Yes, very true. I appreciate how your words point us to nonverbal things—deep and powerful things—here and in many of your poems!

Thanks, Steve, bit of a surprise there, I think.

Absolutely! So much there to ponder, to wrestle with, to explore deeper.

Ezekiel 28:22, '. "Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, and I will manifest my glory in your midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord when I execute judgments in her and manifest my holiness in her.”. That would be a trip. Joke aside. That could be a fabulous short story. 22 pages tops. Escape story, friendship, tragic ending, the dude dies. 🤷🤷🤷. I'm just sayin'! It gave me very good Ray Bradbury vibe. I know I've tried to take certain poems and just or write out possible ideas. Do you think on that stuff every?? Have a great day.

Thanks, Daniel. I don't write out ideas so much as let them marinate in my mind until they have something they can tell me. You have a great day, too!

ah yes, "organized" religion and its bible. In my opinion, the single greatest scam ever perpetrated on man by his fellow man.

I am on both counts. But the project is slow going. I'm constrained by work, time and money. Studio time isn't free, musicians need to make a living, and I need to work to pay for it all... so off to work I go. I hope to be up and launched sometime in late summer. But there is a ton of work that needs to be done to get there. BTW - was just practicing that song you said I should write about epiphanies at county fairs... and it's hilarious. Thanks for that. Would have just sailed past had you not said that! But it's definitely a live number, only to be bootlegged by people weird enough to like it!
