Audio Version
What a comforting poem! After hearing it I wanted to go sit on my grandmother’s front porch swing.
What a great comment, Stan-Thanks so much!
Thank you for the restack, @Daniel Henderson
Thanks to @Wendy Martin for restacking for restacking this!
Thanks, I appreciate the restack @KMPatriot
I almost felt as if I were in church - someplace I haven’t been in many years. The poem was like a prayer I might be persuaded to speak. Your voice delivered it whole, calming the sprits of the dead.
I’m glad I got a bit of private quiet time so I could do the audio version.
I’m glad. Whenever you speak your poems your voice renders them even more powerful.
Beautiful poem, beautifully read. Another one that could be a song — a hymn.
Thank you, Jonathan.
The poem soothes and calms.
Thank you, Saumya. I’m glad it turned out the way it did.
I love the rhyme... it's so musical and resounding. And how the trees are reaching for the skies.
A masterpiece, Paul. I know that lake!!!
Thanks, Hudson!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome, Patricia, and Thank You for reading and commenting.
When the poem first started out, Paul, I was thinkimg of a good place to have a picnic but that changed to something rather solemn at the end.
I think it’s still a good place for a picnic, out behind the croft, down by the water or in the woods
So lovely, Paul. I hope your family gets to enjoy your poetry!
Thanks, Mike & Yes, they do.
This made my heart melt into a deep puddle. In the best way.
Thank you, DeeDee!
I love it so much-another one I might try and translate one day. Unless I'll be where sister Anne is-but maybe even from there
I’m glad you like it. Feel free to translate anything you like, Chen. Preferably before we all join sister Anne
Bodies of water and all the life that surround them is sacred and you captured the vibe in your verse.
Thank you, Christopher!
Such a comforting poem truly enhanced by your reading of it. Just beautiful descriptions.
Thank you, Monica-Glad you enjoyed it
