The imagery or at least what my mind saw. Scarcely visible, secrets, blue, stillness, tear, trapped, bleak streets. Then the question, Is it Winter? And the exit at then end.
“Bleak streets wrapped in exhaled cigarette smoke; yellowing folds of a handkerchief crusted with the dry roar of mucous,; blood spat onto white bathroom tile; the empty space of a window that makes it useful as do spokes in a wheel.”
Oh my! You are a magician with words in this. I jumped in barefoot and walked through it touching each image I passed by, with all my senses. Thank you Brian. Sparkling and shadowed.
I'm glad you like this, Patris. It was another earlier piece I posted when I was trying to decide whether I was going to use the platform. I think it may be from July. I thought I migrated everything over but I guess I was wrong. Anyway, I think ,ore people will see it. I'm glad you did.
Very beautiful poem, beautiful and leaves me sullen 🖤
Thank you, Brian, but why sullen?

It's a beautiful sullen...
All through the night, a hiss of stars,
the she-sells-seashells sibilance
soft as mist across the sullen moor
❤️
I tried to capture that hiss of stars sound, Berkana. Do stars really hiss? I don’t know but I imagine they might if I got close enough.
I like the som os
the words together
“I want your warmest part so long as there’s no danger to it”
“I want your warmest part so long as there’s no danger to it” ❤️
Awesome read on a chilly morning where I'm hiding from the day. I love the part about the day emerging like a snake shedding its skin!!!
Thank you, Rich-much appreciated!
This bit! Yeah.

Thank you, Mathew. Got a bit of a punctuation issue at the end of "mucous, " but it will just have to stay there for the time being.
Oh, I’ve lived the typo after posting routine. No big deal.
This made me want to pick up Ulysses. Double doff!!

Thanks for jumping in Alixandra!
The imagery is incredibly powerful and beautiful at the same time. Stunning, really.

I’m glad to have seen it too.
