There are many wars that are forgotten and no one cares to ask why until the next time Thanks for reading Paul’s Substack! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.
Thanks for this restack, @An K.
Grateful for this restack —Thank you @April Whalley!
Thanks to @Elizabeth Ro for this restack.
We have born children to send them to war since the beginning of time.
And never learned the lesson ...
No truer words were ever uttered!
Perfect Paul 😢
Thank you, Pamela—Good to see you here!
Thank you Paul - it has been a bit rough lately but I’m too stubborn to give up 😂. You know you are one of my favorite artists ☀️
I wish you well, always, Pamela!
I would restack this 50 times!!
Thank you!
Unfortunately, so true
And we always seem to act as if there were no warning signs.
I shudder to think where this goes.
Fortune cookies are eaten
To devour treacherous woes.
Perhaps we should call them misfortune cookies?
Only the dead will know the end of war.
Will they? Will not their spirits cry for the living who still have not learned?
Now you've got me thinking and hypothesizing. Guess I will find out in the not too distant future.
OTOH, their time is done and maybe they just won’t care.
A never ending circle... We never learn, Paul.
And there are so many examples to choose from. Thank you, Fotini.
So true.
Unfortunately, Ron
We ask why when it’s too late. And the answers are always the same. Great poem, Paul.
It’s always been too late, Steve
Ah, true words. Too busy to care, too gruesome to know, if we pretend does it go away? Nope... Who benefits from the suffering?
Who benefits from the suffering? Who is even paying attention?
Touché!
Your poem states a terrible truth.
We never remember from one war to the next
