I just love listening to this, Paul. Great collaboration with our friend and musical maestro, Johnny.
In this era of Trump and his goon squad there if something hopeful in the fact that everything comes to an end, eventually.
Everything drops.
Everything falls.
Kings and empires, towers and walls.
Time is the sunset that always calls.
Thanks to @Ross Ion Coyle for the restack!
Good Thursday, @Deni, and thank you for sharing this
Thanks to @Frederick Fullerton for the restack.
Reads a lot like the circle of life.
I think that idea was in my mind while writing the poem along with wanting to use the four elements in a poem.
Timely repost. Nature always comes back to rebalance the score. Why she designed us to try to win at the expense of others remains somewhat of a mystery to me. I am sure she had her reasons.
I think that “win at the expense of others” is a human modification, rather than Nature’s intent. I could be wrong, though. I often am.
Ending never ends.
Even when we want it to
Like the vision, theme and rhyme. The cheery, friendly melody seems inconsistent with the deep, sober reflection taking place.
Sometimes deep, sober reflections can be cheery, especially if one accepts the fact that everything ends, including deep, sober reflections.
Wonderful Paul. I listened at least 20 times in a row... i felt it like a lullaby, a farewell lullaby
Thank you, Rolando. I hadn’t heard it in almost a year, so I thought I would post again. Johnny Duncan did an excellent job in bring it alive.
Love this 💙
